Back when I was in school, there were many times I would learn a concept and wonder whether I would ever apply that knowledge in the “real world”. Did I really need to know about derivatives beyond Calculus class?
Happy August friends! It feels good to be over the hump of the halfway point this year. I’m sure we’ve all secretly (or maybe not so secretly) wished we could fast forward to 2021. And while we’re far from knowing what next year may hold, the milestone of a new year mentally feels like a turning point. I’m starting to think again about what vacations I may be able to take and what activities I can do again. Even if things don’t quite work out the way I hope, the anticipation still brings a little excitement!
Whenever we reach a significant date, may it be a new month, a new season, a new milestone, or a new year, we oftentimes greet it with a fresh start. We put the past aside, set our intentions for this next chapter, and vow to be better versions of ourselves.
Hi friends! Happy May! Although we’re far from claiming victory on this pandemic, the beginning of this month feels like a renewed motivation to start moving forward. We have slowly adjusted to a new normal, accepted a much different future than the one we envisioned before, and are finding our bearings to adapt to the road ahead. The process may be painful, but I am confident that we all are, in some form or another, redefining our meaning of self-worth.
Hello out there! How is everyone doing? I hope you are safe and most importantly, staying at home. Over the past few weeks, I have written and rewritten this post several times as each week (heck, each day!) inevitably sparks a new sentiment or perspective. From fear and panic to acceptance and hope, I’ve run the gamut of emotions through this pandemic already. Just like COVID-19, no one is immune to the physical, emotional, and mental impact of a global pandemic. And matter how small or large our personal battles may be, it is a reminder to give ourselves and those around us a little grace.
Happy March! How is your year going so far? March is always a transitional period for me as I look forward to a new season. We experienced our first spring in Austin last year and were blown away by the thousands of wildflowers that exploded around the area. We can’t wait to see the Texas bluebonnets again this year! Spring is truly the best season here.
Happy February everyone! Despite the winter doldrums setting in, January always seems to fly by faster than I expect. We returned from an international trip in mid-January so we kick started our new year routine a bit late. The weather in Austin has been gorgeous and I am hoping to take advantage of the outdoors well before the Texas heat starts kicking in.
