I thought I’d kick off my inaugural post by sharing what inspired me to write this blog. You can also learn more about me here. First and foremost - I am a wife, dog mom to my pint-sized “Chiweenie” Marley, and former Product Manager from the Bay Area. After ten years of hustling in tech, my husband and I began to grapple with the question, “what are we working for?”. Through a series of conscious savings habits, fear-based decisions, smart investing, lazy consumerism, and a mixed bag of luck, we had stumbled to our long-awaited goal of financial stability. We could slow down, breathe a little deeper, and truly embrace the fruits of our labor. And that felt pretty darn good. So in 2018 I left my job and my husband and I relocated to Austin, TX to start this next chapter of our lives. Taking a step back from my career allowed me to refocus on the most important “business” in my life - my household. We may have reached financial stability but I knew there were many more ways I could continue to build lifelong wealth. I began searching for ways to better track and maximize my hard earned dollars. There was no shortage of information about budgeting and saving as well as traditional investing, but I knew there had to be more. With a shifting economic landscape, changing governmental laws, and new technologies to optimize financial planning and investing, I saw endless opportunity to capitalize my money. But as an amateur financial planner and investor, navigating these dynamic factors was the hard part. And thus came my inspiration - to share the hard lessons, strategies, and ideas I've found in my continuous journey towards building lifelong wealth. A Millenial myself, I know first hand how difficult the past decade can but be, however I strongly believe a new season of opportunity is upon us. With a solid foundation of professional experience and a long runway for growth, we're at a turning point to create lasting financial success. Amongst other things, I have a creative streak as well and love exploring local ingredients. Having the financial foundation to focus on my true potential has been the best part of this process. I hope you continue to follow along with my on my journey and become a part of it as well. Thanks for stopping by! Sincerely, Joanna Comments are closed.
